For Supplemental
Security Income (SSI) Recipients and
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) Beneficiaries
While
SSA cash benefits and health care are critical for many persons with
disabilities, there is a great deal of misunderstanding about work and
receiving SSI/SSDI.
AHEDD’s
Work Benefits Counseling Program has been designed to provide you and
your community with the very best in customer service and expertise
in helping beneficiaries make informed choices and to be encouraged
to pursue employment.
Upon
referral to this program AHEDD will assist the beneficiary in a financial
assessment of their array of benefits. Next, we will provide a recommended
course of action, including analysis of the impact of paid earnings
on benefits and viable work incentives which would enable the beneficiary
to meet his or her employment and benefit needs.
AHEDD
has been recruited by the Social Security Administration to provide
this service in Western PA.
