AHEDD Receives 2007 Manufacturers & Employers

CAMP HILL, PA (May 7, 2007) – AHEDD, a Central PA based non-profit organization was awarded the 2007 Manufacturers & Employers Excellence Award for Community Involvement from the Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers and Employers Association. The award was announced by the MAEA and will be presented at the 2007 Excellence Awards Presentation Dinner on May 8^th in Hazelton, PA. AHEDD is receiving the recognition for its job placement and economic development activities with business and persons with disabilities throughout the northeast region of Pennsylvania. Since July 2005, AHEDD has assisted 84 individuals with disabilities in becoming employed in the region. Additionally, AHEDD has helped 4 individuals to establish micro-businesses. “We are extremely honored to receive this recognition for our work, as it reflects our commitment to quality employment services to the business community and individuals with disabilities,” remarked Rocco Cambria, AHEDD’s President.

AHEDD is a private, non-profit organization with a mission to serve the community as a catalyst in the employment and development of persons with disabilities. The organization was established in 1977 and provides services throughout PA and DE.

The Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers and Employers Association (formerly MAMP - The Manufacturers Association of Mid-Eastern Pennsylvania) is a private, non-profit, membership-based organization that currently serves more than 250 member companies in Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Northumberland and Schuylkill Counties.
