Fringe Benefits at AHEDD

Full Time Employees of AHEDD work a 37.5 hour work week.  The following benefits are available to full-time employees of AHEDD. Term Life Insurance Policy

Effective 1st day of the first full month of employment. Total value of coverage is set at 1x employee annual salary.

AHEDD contributes 64% per full-time employee toward the cost of an employee's healthcare premiums. AHEDD utilizes a Section 125 plan thus deferring taxes on employee portion of premium paid.

A Vision Plan is available to staff, but not covered by AHEDD's Benefit Package.

Pension Plan: 401(k)
through The Principal Financial Group. The Plan, via additional voluntary employee contributions, is open to both FT & PT employees after one year of service.  The plan also includes a Self-Directed Investment component.

Employees are eligible for AHEDD's Retirement Savings Program after completing one (1) year of full time employment.  AHEDD contributes 4% of compensation to employee retirement program. Following enrollment after one year of employment, employees are fully vested in AHEDD's 401(k) plan.  Enrolled employees can also make elective deferrals/contributions to their plan with pre-tax dollars within specified IRS limits.

Short-term Disability
(6 month max)

Eligible employees receive two-third pay through third party insurance. This income is taxable.

Worker’s Compensation

Eligible employees may receive up to two-thirds pay through Technologies Insurance Group.

Travel Reimbursement for mileage, parking, tolls, etc.

Employees are reimbursed at the prevailing federal reimbursement rates (via expense report) for travel expenses incurred as a result of travel from office to authorized locations, as well as necessary parking, tolls, etc.  The reimbursement is adjusted annually as necessary.

Meals & Hotel Accommodations

With authorized travel, employees may be reimbursed during a period of overnight travel at up to $35 per diem.  For a work day which is extended 3.5 hours prior to or following the normal hours of work, a reimbursement of up to $7.00 per meal is available.  Receipts are required for all reimbursements.

Consolidated Paid Leave Program

AHEDD has a consolidated paid leave program entitled Paid Time Off for all F/T and P/T employees. F/T staff in their first year accrue 126 hours; 2nd through 5th year - 210 hours; Beginning in the 6th year - 231 hours. For full time staff, PTO is earned bi-weekly.  For Part-Time Staff there is a one year wait period, after which PTO is; earned beginning the second year up to a maximum 126 hrs; the 3rd through 6th year - 210 hours; Beginning in the 7th year - a max. of 231 hours.

Tuition Reimbursement for eligible post secondary education.

Employees are eligible after one (1) year of employment, with the program currently reimbursing employees $100 for each year of employment for an “A”, $75 for a “B”, $50 for “C”.

Performance-Based Incentives-Quarterly

A team incentive (field office) that is based on predetermined criteria and fixed amounts for reaching specified benchmarks of program activity.
